Chi Omega House Corporation provides house directors for all Chi Omega homes. The house director serves as the on-site property manager, manages dining operations and maintains positive working relationships with House Corporation (HC), chapter members, advisors, alumnae, school officials and vendors. She takes pride in the facility as if it were her own home and inspires others to do the same. She sets a tone of warmth and welcome for residents and visitors. The position at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming and includes a furnished house director suite, designated parking spot, and a meal plan.

Summary: The House Director plays a vital role in the living, learning and leading environment of the collegiate member of Chi Omega. She works with the House Corporation to provide a safe, secure, productive and comfortable environment for both resident and non-resident members of the chapter. The House Director oversees multiple service providers, coordinates routine maintenance and day-to-day facility management and supervises the activities of the household employees. The House Director problem solves in conjunction with and provides feedback to House Corporation (HC) (to include chapter representatives when necessary).

Job responsibilities are site specific and may range fromcoordinating with House Corporation and Kitchen Manager on billing, payroll hours for employees and ordering supplies/food as well as monitoring the vendors associated with the chapter facility, assisting chapter officers with chapter operations as needed, open and close the facility at the start and end of academic breaks, providing emergency support, serving as the hostess of the chapter facility, and offering moral and logistical support for chapter priorities, programs, and initiatives.

Primary Roles:

Serves as the chapter hostess and promotes gracious living standards, ensuring the chapter house remains a clean, orderly, and safe environment, as well as acting as liaison for all campus activities involving house directors and enforcing house rules and regulations as mandated by the collegiate chapter, national organization, and university.
Assists HC in the budgeting and planning, including the recommendation of areas needing capital improvements, household repairs, and replacements.
Coordinates day-to-day facility management, small repairs, and maintenance with the chapter and HC, reporting issues in a timely manner and supervising house repairs and improvements, including those undertaken when school is not in session.
Lives on site throughout the term of employment as defined in the House Director Employment Agreement, specifically, but not limited to, sleeping nightly at the house and serving as on-site contact for contractors and vendors while maintaining a professional working relationship with all parties, including, but not limited to, members, volunteers, and guests.
Supervises kitchen, cleaning, and maintenance staff, with HC oversight and approval.
Assist chef with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervising chapter facility kitchen staff. Report wages and hours for all staff members.
Supports the chef/cook with meal planning, purchasing and food budgeting, ensuring that appropriate meals are prepared/provided for members while working within budgeted guidelines for the house.
Demonstrates the ability to lift objects of at least 25 pounds, as well as to bend, kneel, and walk up and down stairs easily.
