House Director sought for sorority at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion. The House Director is a live-in position and includes salary for a twelve-month period from August 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014. Candidate must enjoy working with collegiate women, have ability to budget, manage staff and encourage an optimal housing experience for the chapter members. The House Director serves as the primary manager of the local chapter facility to ensure that an appropriate living and learning environment is maintained for chapter members. Responsibilities include: serving as a risk manager for the chapter facility; assisting in coordination of inspections as required by university, local, state, and federal agencies, and insurance; assisting in coordination of local vendors and contractors for general and emergency facility maintenance; supervising household staff; working with the cook to order food and supplies; use of personal car to supplement food and supplies delivery; supervising the opening and closing of the chapter house in coordination with House Corporation Board; providing assistance to chapter members for house-related issues; interfacing with the chapterâ€s collegiate Vice President-Facilities Operations, Housing Advisor, and alumnae House Corporation Board members on house-related issues.

Salary is dependent on qualifications. The House Director is provided with a private onsite apartment and a meal plan (during the academic year). The House Director is required to live onsite during the academic year (approximately mid-August through late May), but her apartment is available for year-round use if desired. Vacations are scheduled conjunction with the breaks in the academic calendar when the house is closed to residents (typically Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break). The house is closed during summer break. Specific dates for those vacations are provided prior to the start of each academic year.
