Description

The Alpha Nu Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at the University of Missouri is recruiting for the position of House Director for its residential facility on campus in Columbia, Missouri for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Established at the University of Missouri in 1922, the chapter has approximately 275 members, 71 of whom live in the chapter house. The Alpha Nu chapter house at 900 Richmond Ave, is undergoing major renovations this summer, so its lower and main levels will be updated and expanded in the coming fall.

The House Director serves as the primary manager of the local chapter facility to ensure that an appropriate living and learning environment is maintained for chapter members. Responsibilities include: serving as a risk manager for the chapter facility; assisting in coordination of inspections as required by university, local, state, and federal agencies, and insurance; assisting in coordination of local vendors and contractors for general facility maintenance; supervising household staff – cook, housekeeper, waiters, and handy man; planning menus in cooperation with the cook; working with the cook to order food and supplies; supervising the opening and closing of the chapter house in coordination with House Corporation Board; providing assistance to chapter members for house-related issues; interfacing with the chapterâ€s collegiate Vice President-Facilities Operations, Housing Advisor, and alumnae House Corporation Board members (on house-related issues).

The House Director is a live-in position and includes salary for a period of August 3, 2013 through May 18, 2014. The House Director reports to the Housing Advisor.

Salary is dependent on qualifications. The House Director is provided with a private onsite apartment and a meal plan (during the academic year). The House Director is required to live onsite during the academic year (approximately early-August through late May), but her apartment is available for year-round use if desired. An onsite parking space is reserved for the House Director. Vacations are scheduled in conjunction with breaks in the academic calendar when the house is closed to residents (typically Thanksgiving Break, a lengthy Winter Break, and Spring Break). The house is closed during summer break. Specific dates for those vacations are provided prior to the start of each academic year.

For questions about the position, contact Chapter Advisor Jessi Meredith at jessi.meredith@gmail.com. Applicant must be willing to submit to a comprehensive background check prior to employment. If interested, please send a letter and resume by May 17, 2013.
