House Director Position
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of Kansas seeks a full time, live in house director for the chapter. Our previous director left due to an illness.
This live-in position in the chapter house and includes room and board in an apartment with a living room, small kitchen, bedroom and bathroom within the chapter house. Also included are utilities, telephone, internet service, cable TV and parking. Pets are negotiable. We are less than two blocks from a vibrant KU campus.
This is a growing chapter with 74 live in members. We need applicants who enjoy working with young men , must have strong social, organizational, managerial and communication skills. She must be effective and enjoy working with staff members she supervises, collegiate members, alumnae, vendors and service providers. She must also ensure facility maintenance needs are identified and appropriate people hired for repairs.
The House Mother must have a driver's license and her own transportation. The applicant should be able to work independently, be flexible, able to travel through the house, be computer literate and detail oriented, and have good communication skills. Time off is available and also the ability to live in the chapter house year round. The House Directorâ€s duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinating day to day facility management with the Chapter House Corporation Board and the Chapter
Plan and post menus for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday and Friday brunch. Monday night is chapter dinner for all members.
Budgeting for house meals and ordering food
Helping to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment for residents and non resident members
Following all Fraternity and Chapter policies
Being available to open and close the facility before and after each vacation period
Obtaining and scheduling all required safety inspections
