Description
The Iowa State University Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity seeks a qualified individual to serve as a live-in house director. This position requires acting as a parent to the organization’s membership. Qualified individuals need to possess traits such as a positive attitude, abilities as a cordial host/hostess, event planning and general respect for college-age men and women.
The house director will be charged with the following:
- Assisting with educational seminars and general programming
- Attending chapter events, including weekly meetings
- Attending/supporting extracurricular, academic and events in honor of chapter membership when schedule permits
- Taking an active role in chapter alumni relations
- Corresponding with chapter family and friends
- Supervising presentation of meals, organizing waiters
- Ordering and purchasing food not provided by the chef
- Ordering minor kitchen products and keeping proper inventory
- Hosting daily meals of the chapter with concentration on evening meals and formal meals
- Preparing breakfast items at least twice a week
- Preparing sack lunches for chapter members requesting them
- Guiding chapter membership in etiquette and conduct
- Preparing occasional meals when needed
- Acting as chapter representation to Coterie (house directors’ organization)
- Meeting weekly with chapter leadership to encourage strong communication
- Sharing up-to-date information with the current Mom’s Club President & Officers regarding the needs of the house for their fundraising efforts and communications
- Attending Alumni Association Board meetings
- Maintaining the guest room and the room usage schedule
