Sigma Kappa Sorority at Kansas State University houses some of the happiest college students in the nation! We are looking for a warm, friendly house director with relevant experience to manage our 58-resident facility for the 2013-2014 school year and beyond.

We offer a year-round contract; relocation expenses; competitive pay; a furnished house directorâ€s suite with private bathroom, paid utilities, internet, basic cable (available year-round); ten prepared meals per week and breakfast food and snack food seven days a week during the school year; an assigned parking space; and several weeks of paid vacation per year.

Our local House Corporation owns the Sigma Kappa house located across the street from the university gardens. Sitting on half an acre, with a large parking lot, the house was built in 1993 and has a new roof and siding. There are 58 residents plus an additional 110 members who use the facility.

Service agreements are in place with several vendors for routine maintenance supervised by the house director. Additionally, the house director supervises a cook, six kitchen assistants, and a housekeeper.

The house director is responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the facility, including ordering household supplies, directing household employees, contacting tradesman to repair and maintain the property, keeping an accurate record of household expenditures, following a budget, and ensuring compliance with all local and state facility regulations.

We are seeking a female, full-time, live-in house director. The house director must be able to climb stairs, lift twenty pounds, and perform basic computer skills such as scanning and using email including the ability to edit word processing documents and read email attachments in Word and Excel. The facility is smoke-free and alcohol-free. Pets are not allowed.

The house director is responsible for submitting invoices and payroll hours to the National Housing Corporation. The National Housing Corporation processes payments from students, payments to vendors, payroll, and tax filings.

The local Corporation Board employs the house director. The house director will confer regularly with the local Corporation Board regarding inspections and concerns outside of normal household operations and maintenance as well as communicating in an organized way about routine operations.

The house director will maintain positive relationships with the Chapter, Chapter advisers, and Corporation Board. The house director is the official hostess for Chapter events held at the Chapter house, which includes meeting potential new members, parents, and other guests during scheduled events as requested by the Chapter.

Kansas State University is a traditional college campus and recently named as Princeton Reviewâ€s home to the nationâ€s happiest college students. Kansas State is currently celebrating 150 years as a university and conference championships in football and basketball. The university is located in the scenic Flint Hills in Manhattan, Kansas.
