Job Summary: This position operates and manages the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house in accordance with the facility rules and assigned duties. Responsibilities include managing an orderly living environment for the thirty-one (31) residents, overseeing the appropriate maintenance of the house, responding to emergency issues, and ensuring the security of the facility. This position will work under contract and all duties and responsibilities will be explicitly identified.
General Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a permanent residence at the sorority house. Adhere to a specific schedule as identified in the contract.
• Establish and maintain a friendly atmosphere in the house.
• Be an example of gracious and orderly living for the residents.
• In conjunction with the Advisory Board, enforce the facility rules and manage day to day living issues. Maintain a working relationship with the designated advisor.
• Ensure that the residents of the house maintain the facility appropriately, ensuring that the public areas are always maintained in a clean and sanitary manner, including the exterior of the facility.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the facility, including but not limited to coordinating repair and maintenance work and deliveries.
• Act as liaison to Facility Corporation Board (FCB) in all matters related to the upkeep and maintenance of the facility.
• Be able to climb stairs on a regular basis to reach other floors and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Have computer skills, including email and word processing skills.
• Respond to all emergency and non-emergency issues that should arise regarding the facility. Responsible for calling appropriate contacts for remediation.
• Arrange for annual inspections necessary including HVAC system, boiler, kitchen stove hood, fire extinguishers, sprinklers.
• Ensure the security of the facility by enforcing the rules, maintaining the alarm systems and enforcing security policies and procedures. Enter security data in the facility computer.
• Oversee opening and closing of the facility during University recess.
• Submit monthly reports to the FCB regarding the state of the facility and all maintenance completed to include recommendations for improvement or changes to the facility, as appropriate.
• Supervise kitchen and housekeeping employees and outside contractors, including the caterer who provides daily meals.
• Ensure that breakfast foods and snacks for residents are adequately stocked while managing a budget.
• Accept delivery of all orders from suppliers and store appropriately.
• Meet with chapter facility manager officer regularly and with residents when necessary to discuss any issues regarding the facility.

Facility Directorâ€s apartment features a private bath, kitchen, 1 bedroom, living room, large closets, two outside exits, and an additional exit into facility, an outside porch and a designated parking space. Utilities provided include electric, water/sewer, refuse disposal, cable and internet. Meals prepared for chapter by caterer while school is in session and women are in residence: Monday –Thursday lunch and dinner and Friday –brunch; breakfast self serve 7 days a week.
