Kappa Alpha Theta at Oregon State University is looking for a House Director beginning August 2014

The House Director fosters and maintains a safe and productive environment for members through oversight of multiple service providers, coordination of routine maintenance and day-to-day facility management and supervising the activities of the household employees. The House Director provides feedback to and problem solves in conjunction with the housing team (to include chapter, Advisory and Corporation Boards).

Specific Duties:
• Serves as the chapter hostess and sets an example at all times through professional appearance, unquestionable demeanor, courtesy, and consideration for others.
• Sees that the public areas of the chapter facility are orderly so visitors may be graciously received at any time.
• Recommends areas needing capital improvements, household repairs and replacements.
• Coordinates day-to-day facility management, small repairs and maintenance with the chapter and Chapter Housing Corporation.
• Schedules and conducts the opening and closing of the chapter house along with Collegian House Manager.
• Supports the cook/food staff with meal planning and food budgeting.
• Serves as on-site contact for contractors and vendors while maintaining a professional working relationship.
• Assists Housing Corporation/Advisory Board in the budgeting and planning.
• Hires, with Advisory Board approval, and supervises kitchen, cleaning and maintenance staff.
• Works within budgeted guidelines for the house.
• Helps to ensure the safety of the house occupants and enforce house rules and regulations as mandated by the collegiate chapter, Corporation Board, our National organization and university.
• Lives on site during all academic periods, specifically, but not limited to, sleeping nightly at the house.
• Acts as liaison for all campus activities involving house directors.

Qualifications:
Looking for a candidate that enjoys working with college age women, patience, flexibility and a sense of humor. Desired traits would be a positive approach, focused attitude and the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with students, parents, alumnae, service providers and community resources. Excellent organization and communication abilities, basic budget planning, knowledge of email communication, Microsoft Word and Excel, with previous property management experience a plus.

Chapter Information:
The chapter located at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon has a total of 140 members with 58-60 members living in the chapter house. The chapter is very strong with top grades on campus. Both the Advisory/Corporation Boards are active and supportive of the members, facility director and staff. Corvallis, is a small college town with a big city feel. Lots of fun restaurants, theater, located on the river and part of the PAC-12 conference. One hour to the beach and hour and a half to Portland, Oregon.

Facility Director Apartment:
Furnished apt with separate bedroom and living room. Remodeled bath and new furniture and flat screen TV; Small kitchenette outside of apt.

Salary:
Competitive with Stipend for cell, mileage and health.
