Description

This Resident House Director will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team of volunteer alumnae members to manage the daily operations of a beautiful facility located just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. This well-maintained two-story chapter house with approximately 50 in-house members is located close to the university campus.

Desired skills include excellent organization and communication abilities, basic bookkeeping, knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with previous property management experience being a plus. Desired traits would be a positive solution-focused attitude and the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with students, parents, alumnae, service providers and community resources. Enjoyment from working with college-age women, patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor are beneficial.

Responsibilities will include direction of two kitchen staff employees, ensuring a safe and productive environment for residents, observance of House Corporation Board policies and procedures, oversight of multiple service providers, coordination of routine maintenance, supervision of larger maintenance and improvement projects from the bid process to project completion, working with the alumnae and collegiate HCB members to strategize for the long term care and upkeep of the facility.

Benefits include a private one-bedroom apartment with all utilities included – electric, gas, phone, cable, high-speed internet access and onsite laundry facilities. Food service is included from September through April each school year. A biweekly salary is paid year-round with the amount based on experience. Actual hours worked vary by time of year, but the HD could easily maintain outside part-time employment. Time off is flexible during scheduled university breaks in early March and late December as well as May through mid-August when the house is closed to residents for maintenance and improvements.

Female applicants may send a cover letter, resume, and references to the Housing Corporation Board of Delta Theta of Alpha Phi.
