The Arkansas Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, AR) has an opening for a professional, detail-orientated, full-time, live-in House Director.
The chapter house has a capacity of 98 members (total chapter membership is approx. 415). The chapter house was recently completely rebuilt and opened to residents in August 2016. It contains state of the art technology throughout the house. The House Director’s apartment is situated in a quiet part of the house. It contains a full kitchen, private bath and laundry.
The House Director is an employee of the chapter’s House Corporation. The House Director will work closely with the chapter's House Corporation and collegiate VP of housing. The primary responsibility is managing a safe and secure environment for our collegiate members. Candidate must enjoy working with collegiate women, be a self-starter, be tech savvy and work effectively with staff and service providers.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Be onsite 7 nights per week when members are in residence, except when prior arrangements for a substitute have been made
-Oversee the opening and closing of the chapter house each semester
-Serve as the official hostess for the Chapter and prepare the house for special events/visitors
-Supervise kitchen employees and oversee third party vendors such as housekeeping service, landscaper, contractors and handy man
-Communicate any house maintenance or unusual issues to the House Corporation
REQUIRED SKILLS - Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills, ability to learn to operate and review security system and related video surveillance, ability to interact professionally with students, parents, alumnae, service providers, and community/university officials. Facilities Management experience is a plus as operating a house of this size requires a high level of organization. Physical abilities include climbing a flight of stairs and lifting 25 pounds if necessary.
